Built in 1928 by Lyon's Diocese, the Domaine Saint Joseph was a seminary used for training young priest. With its 5ha and 8000 square meter and a beautiful view over the Mont du Lyonnais hills, it was the perfect place for philosophy education.

To offer you a large catering choice, a dedicated self service restaurant is now open; Its 80 guest capacity completes the 4 other catering rooms.

Our shady decking remains available for cocktails and coffee breaks.

    From Perrache train and bus station

    Estimated time: 5 to 6 minutes
    Catch the tube ‘Métro ligne A’ towards ‘VAULX La Soie’
    Stop at Bellecour (2nd stop)

    From Part-Dieu train and bus station

    Estimated time: 10 to 15 minutes
    Catch the tube ‘Métro ligne B’ towards ‘Stade de Gerland’
    Stop at Saxe-Gambetta (2nd stop)
    Take the connection ‘Métro ligne D’ towards ‘gare de Vaise’
    Stop at Bellecour (2nd stop)

    Once at Bellecour

    Estimated time: 20 to 30 minutes
    Catch the bus N°30 towards Francheville
    Get off at ‘La Plaine’ bus stop

    Once at ‘La Plaine’ bus stop

    Take the road called ‘chemin des Fonts‘ (Hairdresser at the corner)

    Follow ‘périphérique Sud - St Etienne-Marseille’

    Option n°1: using the ring road
    Exit ‘St Fons-Pierre-Bénite’
    At the junction, stay in the left lane,
    Follow ‘Pierre Bénite - Lyon centre’ (A7 motorway)
    Exit ‘La Mulatière’

    Option n°2: going through the city via Gerland (Itinerary to avoid if there is a football game)
    Exit ‘Porte de Gerland’
    Take the ‘Avenue Tony Garnier’ right up to the last traffic light, then turn left onto the bridge ‘Pont Pasteur’
    Follow ‘La Mulatière-Oullins’

    From Marseille - St Etienne (A7 motorway)

    Exit ‘La Mulatière’

    From the ‘Aquarium du Grand Lyon’

    Follow ‘Ste Foy-lès-Lyon’ on your right.
    Go on the 'Avenue Charles de Gaulle’ which changes to’Chemin des Chassagnes’ then ‘Chemin de la Croix Pivort’ (You must pass the sports ground, the swimming pool then the Campanile hotel)
    At the traffic lights, turn left towards ‘La Plaine’. (You must pass the hospital, the cemetery, the library)
    At the traffic lights, carry on ahead up to the round-about then take the last exit ‘La Plaine - Commerces’
    Follow the ‘Chemin des Fonts’, turn left at the second drive, you are on the 'Allée Jean-Paul II’
    The Lyon Saint Joseph Estate is at n°38 (after the sports ground of ‘la Plaine’)

  • By road North Itinerary

    From Paris (A6 motorway)

    Exit n°36 ‘Porte du Valvert’
    At the round-about turn right towards ‘Tassin horloge’
    Take the 'Avenue Victor Hugo’

    From Geneva - Bourg en Bresse (A42 - A46 motorway)

    At ‘porte de Croix Luizet’
    Follow ‘périphérique Nord’ (Toll: 1,80 €)
    Exit ‘Tassin’

    At the ‘clock’ crossroad ‘Carrefour de l'horloge’

    Go towards ‘Craponne-Francheville’, you are on the 'Avenue Ch. de Gaulle’
    Go towards ‘Francheville’ and carry on under the railway bridge. (The ‘Casino’ supermarket is on your left)
    At the traffic lights, turn left towards ‘Francheville le Haut - le Bas’, then the ‘Route de Brignais’ which changes to the 'Avenue du Chater’
    At the 3rd traffic lights, turn left on the ‘Grande Rue’ towards ‘Lyon, Ste Foy-lès-Lyon’ (If you see a church, you have been too far!)
    Pass the traffic lights and at the top of the hill, take the ‘Chemin des Fonts’ on your right (Between the florist and the hairdresser)
    100 metres below, turn right on the ‘Allée Jean-Paul II’. The Lyon Saint Joseph Estate is at n°38 (after the sports ground of ‘la Plaine’)

  • From the city centre

    From the river Saône bank

    Option n°1: left bank
    Follow the river Saône bank
    Cross the bridge ‘Pont Kitchener’ - towards ‘Ste Foy-lès-Lyon’

    Option n°2: right bank
    Follow the river Saône bank (Quai J-J Rousseau and Quai des Étroits)
    Keep left and pass under the railway bridge
    At the traffic lights, turn left and take the ‘Montée de Choulans’

    In the ‘Montée de Choulans’

    At the 1st traffic lights, turn left ‘Avenue Debrousse’ - towards ‘Ste Foy-Francheville.
    At the 2nd traffic lights, turn right and take the 'Avenue de la 1ère DFL’ towards ‘Francheville.
    At the 3rd traffic lights, go straight across and take the ‘Rue Commandant Charcot’ - towards ‘La Plaine- Francheville’.
    Carry on for about 2 800 m.
    Once in the ‘La plaine’ area, turn left on the ‘Chemin des Fonts’. (Between the hairdresser and the florist)
